MINIMUM REQUIREMENT - Along with the Basic Requirement listed above, to be qualified for this GS-2210-11 IT Specialist position, you can be found eligible through meeting either the Specialized Experience or Education requirements specified below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Creditable specialized experience for this position includes at least one year of progressively responsible specialized experience working with principles and processes of IT related to systems analysis and customer support, including: 1) Providing functional analysis and support in the development and maintenance of Automated Information Technology (AIT) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID); 2) Assisting with feasibility studies and overall system tests to ensure that functional unity interrelationships are functioning properly; 3) Performing IT systems analysis, testing, configuration management, and life cycle management using knowledge of IT system design techniques, approaches, and security/integrity requirements.
EDUCATION SUBSTITUTE FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE - Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields stated previously and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

SPECIAL TRAINING REQUIREMENT: Commercial IA certification as per DoD 8570 policy for IA Technical or IA Managerial Level I, II or III that must be obtained in the first six months of hiring. In addition, the appropriate Computing Environment certification for the operating system(s) supported but be obtained.
