JOB SUMMARY:

MISSOURI NATIONAL GUARD

ARMY TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

This is a GS-04/05/06 position that is located at the 1139th Military Police Company in Harrisonville, MO United States 1 vacancy

Incumbent will be assigned to Position Description Number D1100000 in SPMD 2245


APPOINTMENT FACTORS:  This is a Permanent Excepted Service position. This is a bargaining unit position.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED:  This is an Excepted position that requires active membership in a compatible skill in the Missouri Army National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate enlistment or appointment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS qualified within 12 months from date of appointment.

Maximum Military Grade – SSG (E-6)

Enlisted – CMF 42, 92; or predominate MOS of the organization


Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).

IMPORTANT NOTES: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances are not authorized for this position. Required Security Clearance is Noncritical Sensitive.

Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.

 

This position will be filled at the GS-04 or GS-05 trainee grades or the target grade of GS-06. An applicant who is selected at one of the trainee grades will have potential for promotion to the target grade of GS-06 without further competition. Promotion to full operating/journeyman level will be made after qualifications and eligibility requirements have been met and the incumbent is performing at the higher level in a satisfactory manner.

DUTIES:

Responsible for military personnel and administrative work for the unit. Provides regulatory information and completes documentation required for actions such as fraudulent enlistment, involuntary order to active duty, conviction of military personnel by civilian authority, State Military Code violations, etc. Functions as the primary source of guidance and assistance to the unit commander and other members of the unit on military personnel matters, including application of rules, regulations, and procedures. Initiates and/or completes personnel actions for the unit such as appointment packages, new member personnel in-processing, discharges, promotions, reductions, MOS assignments, and transfers. Compiles documents necessary for processing of formal and in-formal line of duty determinations. Prepares and submits payrolls for inactive and active duty training including uniform allowances, supplemental and incapacitation payrolls. Researches and corrects pay discrepancies. Performs other duties as assigned.

GS-06 Specialized Experience:  Must have 9 months of specialized experience applying military Human Resources rules, procedures and operations sufficient to process and/or review a variety of military personnel actions/transactions; reviewing and processing military personnel actions to determine if requested action is substantiated by the documentation submitted; and preparing technical reports and correspondence.

GS-05 Specialized Experience:  Must have 6 months of specialized experience applying military Human Resources rules, procedures and operations sufficient to process and/or review a variety of military personnel actions/transactions; reviewing and processing military personnel actions to determine if requested action is substantiated by the documentation submitted; and preparing technical reports and correspondence.

GS-04 Specialized Experience:  Must have 3 months specialized experience in general clerical work; processing various personnel forms, records and reports; obtaining and giving information verbally and in writing; and the ability to follow written instructions.

General Experience:  Must have clerical or administrative experience, education and/or training which has provided you with the ability to search for and compile information/data, process documents, and provide information about regulations, procedures and programs.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for Federal employment, male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must certify at the time of appointment that you have registered with the Selective Service System, or are exempt from having to do so under Selective Service law.

Be advised that if selected for a military technician position where membership in a reserve component is a condition of employment, your bonus will be terminated and may or may not be subject to recoupment. Pre-placement or baseline physical is required to newly hired personnel who may be potentially exposed to health hazards in the work environment or who are assigned to positions requiring specific standards of physical fitness prior to an effective start date of employment being established.
