The Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) is currently accepting applications under examining authority of 10 U.S.C., Section 2164 for position(s) at the Area Service Center in Peachtree City, Georgia.

This is an Excepted Service Position.

Applicants must be able to type at least 40 words per minute in order to meet minimum qualification requirements.  Your application must reflect your typing speed.

Duties

Provides payroll liaison service to the assigned district.  Receives documents to change employees' payroll accounts to include, but not limited to, address changes.  Affects allotment and tax exemption changes.  Responds to inquiries from serviced customers through the Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS).  Provides data entry to update Master Employee Record (MER) such as address changes, savings, allotments, and Federal, state and local tax authorizations.  Adjusts annual leave, sick leave, and miscellaneous leave as necessary.  Maintains customer service support files of documents in accordance with the GSA General Records Schedules (GRS).  Researches the automated master employee records and the historical database to respond to questions or resolve problems concerning back pay issues which could vary in complexity depending on the number of actions and the number of years affected by the late processing of the personnel actions.  Provides training to the new timekeepers.  Travels to the schools and district offices to conduct training, if required.  Receives installation/release packages, prepares and distributes packages for all timekeepers.  Maintains security for timekeepers and certifies alternatives.  Serves as point of contact for payroll offices.  Completes activity records and/or organization record forms.  Consolidates Tim and Attendance (T&A) data from timekeepers who do not have on-line access to the Central Data Base.  Merges and transmits the T&A files to the consolidate civilian payroll office.  Resolves T&A problems.  Distributes activity level reports.  Assists employees in the resolution of problems by reviewing personnel and T&A input transactions.  Maintains local tables with the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS).  Provides training of T&A issues to timekeepers through Computer Based Training (CBT).
