JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:
Position is located at the Defense Health Headquarters or DHHQ, 7700 ARLINGTON BOULEVARD, FALLS CHURCH, VA 22042. The Defense Health Headquarters (DHHQ) is the central hub for military medicine administration worldwide processing care for America's fighting men and women as well as their families and dependents. Five separate organizations will be co-located on a single campus. The administrative work done at the DHHQ will make it possible for the Military Health System (MHS) to continue providing high-quality care to service personnel and their families around the world.

The Defense Health Headquarters (DHHQ) is working to connect commuters with efficient, environmentally friendly transportation to the new facility. The range of options for commuting, including reserve parking for high-occupancy vehicles (HOV), is designed to reduce roadway congestion, lower fuel costs, reduce carbon emissions, and improve air quality. Shuttle service from the Pentagon at the metro station to the DHHQ. Shuttle service to the DHHQ from the Dunn Loring-Merrifield Metro Station.


This position will be filled on a permanent basis.

The major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Utilizes existing information systems to conduct timely, systematic and in-depth analysis of behavioral health (BH) service line efforts and related disease outcomes, evaluating clinical workload/throughput, tracking rates and changes in behavioral health diagnoses for beneficiary populations, identifying program efficiencies, and supporting budget development/resource allocation.
  • Forms relationships with Army Medical Department G-staff, Army Medical Command regional assets, Behavioral Health Program Managers, Program Analysis and Evaluation Analysts, and Behavioral Health and Social Outcomes Program (BHSOP) assets at the US Army Public Health Command (USAPHC).
  • Provides analytical support to respond to short timeline taskers/requests for information, analyze/interpret aggregate data, coordinate with stakeholders, and provide policy/programmatic input on complex behavioral health care issues within the AMEDD and Department of Defense (DoD)

Specialized Experience Requirement: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.  Specialized experience is defined as: Progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities; Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement; Performing behavioral health related data analysis (to include data harvesting, data mining, statistical analysis, and qualitative and quantitative analysis) using various health care data information systems; maintaining an inventory of behavioral health assets; developing solutions to difficult problems concerning multi-year provisions of behavioral healthcare programs; and communicating key findings (both orally and written) from complex and sensitive data for high-ranking officials. Examples of specialized experience include:
