Summary

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, or FERC, is an independent agency that regulates the interstate transmission of natural gas, oil, and electricity. This position is located in the Office of Enforcement's (OE) Division of Energy Market Oversight (DEMO), which serves the public by performing oversight and analysis data relating to the Nation's electricity markets and related physical and financial markets.  DEMO identifies and analyzes physical market data designed to develop the Commission's oversight needs.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of  Electric Quarterly Reports (EQR) and financial and operational statements to assess the degree to which filings are in compliance with Commission orders and regulations.  Provide technical advice and support to filers and take appropriate action regarding identified compliance issues.
  • Based on his/her analysis and data gathering, prepare or assist higher level analysts prepare Commission documents, such as market reports, memoranda, notices, and orders that contain appropriate discussion and recommendations on economic and regulatory policy issues associated with the EQR and financial and operational statements.
  • Query, verify, test and review datasets to assess and improve their quality and consistency including the EQR and financial and operational statements.
