This position is located in the Office of Research and Development, National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory, Environmental Public Health Division, Immediate Office, Chapel Hill, NC.

You will:
- Serve as the Director for the Office of Research and Development (ORD) Human Research Protocol Office and as the key liaison for EPA with the University of North Carolina Institutional Review Boards;
- Review all documents for human studies conducted by ORD researchers and obtain any necessary approvals;
- Prepare and deliver training to ORD researchers on human ethics, policies, and procedures for  human studies;
- Lead epidemiology database, observational, animal or in vitro toxicology studies.

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts.
