As a Power Plant Mechanic, performs a combination of shop, plant and outside work at a multiple purpose hydroelectric power project. Performs general powerhouse mechanical equipment maintenance to include using equipment such as turbines, generators, governors, spillway and intake hoist equipment, pneumatic devices, HVAC equipment, sewage and water treatment facilities, and hydraulic equipment. Performs a variety of types of welding, cutting, brazing, and soldering operations. Installs and repairs piping systems. Performs rigging for all routine work in accordance with rigging practice. Operates shapers, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, grinders, sheet metal shaping, and cutting machines.
