The Ohio National Guard seeks to employ high quality applicants for Federal Technician positions. This position requires military membership in the Ohio National Guard.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

 

This position is located in the Aviation Materiel Management Section of an Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF). Its purpose is to provide services in support of inventory control, storage and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems. Manages aviation materials and resource tracking (i.e. Depot Level Repairable (DLR)/Class 9 (CLIX) funds and all other appropriate air and ground budgets), Test Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)/tools management, and Hazardous Material Management.

Responsible for all phases of DLR and CLIX repair/repairable items procurement and returns program. Forecasts, justifies, prepares, submits, and administers the annual DLR budget request. Responsible to acquire needed DLR and CLIX repair parts.  Verifies availability and orders DLR parts as needed. Determines proper fund coding, prepares requisitions and forwards to source of supply. Insures part availability, receives part, stores, prepares Material Release Order (MRO), and forwards part to maintenance shops. Recovers damaged/unserviceable part, initiates turn-in procedure, prepares for shipment, packages and ships to depot, Aviation Classification Repair Army Depot (AVCRAD), or other appropriate activity. Maintains Document Control Register and ship-out log. Verifies that appropriate activity has received returned part.  Reviews budget reports to insure returned funds are properly credited to DLR account.
Incumbent establishes coordination and networking with other civilian and military agencies, for the purpose of acquiring required items and supplies. Those agencies include AVCRAD, Aviation Missile Command (AMCOM), Item Managers, civilian contract vendors, etc.  Performs other duties as assigned.

** Indefinite Appointments are subject to the guidance set forth in TPR 300 – 316.2.

 

Adjutants general may make and extend excepted indefinite appointments in increments of up to one year each for a total of 4 years. Extensions beyond 4 years

  • Compatible Military Assignment: ECMF  15, 67*, 91, 92

General Experience:  Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered.  Experience using computer and automation systems.

Specialized Experience:(GS - 07) - 12 months experience in which the applicant demonstrates:

1.  Experience which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment.

2.  Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts.

3.  Experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.


Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  A copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of experience.  Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.  Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience.

Requirements

This position is being announced in accordance with state merit promotion procedures and collective bargaining agreement. Wearing of the appropriate military uniform is required while employed in this position. Permanent change of duty station (PCS) funds are not available. 

 

If you are an AGR and are selected for this position, you will be required to vacate your AGR status. 

 

Successful applicant will be assigned to a compatible military position in an appropriate unit of assignment in the Ohio National Guard.
