This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Program Integrity (CPI), Data Analytics and Control Group (DACG), Systems Management Division (SMD) in Woodlawn, MD.

In this position you will serve as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist (Systems Analysis) performing work related to implementing, monitoring, and managing IT contracts and systems. Specifically, you will:

  • Develop Program Integrity related plans, positions, and recommendations in assignment areas.
  • Analyze complex programmatic, planning, and management issues in an effort to formulate Agency positions on issues.
  • Serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative to monitor and manage contracts related to the design, development, implementation and maintenance of IT Systems.
  • Oversee the work of IT development and supporting contractors on a day-to-day basis, providing all technical direction to the contractor.
  • Prepare analyses of the impact of proposed legislation on Information Systems.

In order to qualify at the GS-13, you must meet the following:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Government which includes: Evaluating IT methods or procedures to recommend improvements or modifications related to Medicare/Medicaid Program Integrity systems; overseeing daily activities of contractors; and establishing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve Medicare/Medicaid Program Integrity IT systems.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience stated above, your resume must show that you possess the following IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies:

  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
