The Supply Technician in this position will control and coordinate the ordering, purchasing, dispensing, and inventory management of stock items, supplies and services required by the Denver Acquisition and Logistics Center. Specifically, the Supply Technician will:

  • Establish and maintain accounting records for the control and maintenance of adequate stock levels to ensure availability of supplies
  • Analyze usage patterns of inventories items, determine replenishment levels, and adjust stock level to ensure to the extent possible that over-stock or out-of-stock situations are avoided
  • Review requests for new items and determine the appropriate source for replenishment of stock
  • Determine and report estimated annual usage requirements, and create recurring reports as needed
  • Answer inquiries regarding procedures, deliveries, information about line items, policies, regulations, and contract provisions.

Qualifications must be met by the Closing Date: You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by Thursday, November 14, 2013.

To qualify for this position at the GS-06 level you must have at least: one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 level performing supply management work that is standardized and requires limited knowledge and experience. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: purchasing and dispensing stock items; maintaining automated records for control of stock levels; determining or reporting usage requirements and/or appropriate replenishment level; and answering customer inquiries regarding supply management issues. Note: Your resume must fully support this experience in order to be found qualified for this grade level. 

To qualify for this position at the GS-07 level you must have at least: one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 level performing supply management work that requires a sound knowledge of supply operations and involves resolving problems. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: purchasing, dispensing, and inventory management of stock items; maintaining automated accounting records for control of stock levels; determining or reporting usage requirements and appropriate replenishment level; answering customer inquiries regarding supply management issues; and identifying problems and initiating corrective action regarding shipping, billing, or other issues with supply orders. Part-Time or Unpaid Experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.


Requirements:

  • Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
  • Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are not authorized for this position.
  • Promotion Potential: A selectee at the GS-06 level may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
