 NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:  This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatibility assignment in the National Guard.  Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

 

AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

AREA I:  All New Jersey National Guard (NJNG) Technicians

AREA II:  All Members of the NJNG

AREA III:  All personnel eligible for membership in the NJARNG

 

If a New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJARNG, and may be required to attend U.S. Army Basic Training.  Applicant may contact an Army National Guard Recruiter.

 

If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

 

Mandatory Training:  IAW Professional Education Center (PEC) FY11 & FY12 Mandatory Full-Time Support (FTS) Training (ARNG-HRH Policy Memorandum 10-039), the individual selected for this position will be scheduled for training at PEC within six months of employment.  Scheduling the required training is a condition of employment.  Unless there are extenuating circumstances, failure of new FTS personnel to complete National Guard Bureau prescribed courses at PEC within the first year of employment, may be cause for reassignment to other full-time positions dependant on vacancy availability or termination of employment.

Duties

The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position:  A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.

 

MAJOR DUTIES:  Administers, coordinates, and verifies design work and projects performed by A&E firms, characterized by large funding costs and long duration times.  Requests construction funding.  Represents the CFMO at meetings and conferences with other ARNG representatives as well as NGB, state, and other government agencies.  Provides guidance on the development of building environmental, energy, security and communication systems both for programmed new construction and for retrofit of existing buildings.  Provides guidance and input to the Improvement Program for ARNG Armories.
