Specialized experience for this position involves development, implementation, operation, maintenance, and modification of major finance and/or accounting automation information systems.
Specialized Experience: Requires one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled.
1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement. Degree must in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:

· Mentorship throughout the Program.
· Individual Development Plan to assist with career planning, professional development, and training activities.
· At least 40 hours of formal, interactive training each year of the Program.

AFTER PROGRAM COMPLETION:
Recent Graduates may be converted to a permanent position (or, in some limited circumstances a term appointment lasting 1-4 years).
To be eligible for conversion, Recent Graduates must:
· Be a US Citizen.
· Successfully completed at least 1-year of continuous service in addition to all requirements of the Program.
· Demonstrated successful job performance.
· Met the qualifications for the position to which the Recent Graduate will be converted.
Any of the following educational institutions or curricula that have been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the secretary of the U.S. Department of Education:
(i) A technical or vocational school;
(ii) A 2-year or 4-year college or university; or
(iii) A graduate or professional school (e.g., law school, medical school)
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
