About the Position:

As Lead Appraiser, Civil Works Branch, evaluates, analyzes, and develops effective actions to manage the technical and administrative activities required to achieve the programs, mission and objectives assigned to the branch.   As Senior Review Appraiser, incumbent is responsible for appraising complex and difficult properties; oversight and final review of appraisals prepared by the district appraisers; for securing appraisals from contract appraisers, and for either approving or recommending approval of the contractor's appraisal.

The incumbent will administer the technical functions of the Branch to accomplish the Appraisal Program for the Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District and is given a wide latitude for independent actions to administer the technical element of the Appraisal team; reviews the work of team members and contractors by checking reports and other documents for adequacy, evidence of good judgment, and compliance with requirements and guidelines. Incumbent directs the work efforts of team members in the preparation of real estate planning reports required for acquisition, which may include a various easements and leases in addition to lands to be acquired in fee.
