NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatibility assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

AREA I: All Excepted Technicians of the the 108th Wing (WG)
AREA II: All Excepted Technicians of the New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG)
AREA III: All members of the NJANG or those eligible for membership
If a New Jersey Army National Guard (NJARNG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJANG
If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the New Jersey Air National Guard.

APPLICANTS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM RANK: Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered. Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank. If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion. Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers may be allowed to reduce their Officer/Warrant Officer rank to Enlisted only. Military recruiters can provide Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers with specifics applicable to the applicant.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP STATUS:Employment in this position requires concurrent military assignment to a compatible military position in the New Jersey National Guard in one of the following military specialty codes:
MUST HAVE THE AFSC: 2S0X1
LEVEL OF CLEARANCE/INVESTIGATION: MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAINAND MAINTAIN A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS: To obtain the required AFSC, acceptance of this position requires
a minimum ASVAB Score of 44 in the General area and 41 in Administrative area. ASVAB scores will not be required to apply
for the position, however applicants must obtain required ASVAB scores prior to
acceptance of the position. The
applicant must verify their scores with their Military Personnel
Flight/Military Personnel Office.

MAJOR DUTIES: Schedules
and conducts formal organizational visits annually to each supported organizational
account both on and off the installation to ensure custodians are adequately
performing their accountability responsibilities. Ensures accountability of
equipment assets purchased with the GPC and/or through Base Contracting. Attends
base deployment concept briefings to identify organizations deploying
equipment. Identifies, coordinates and monitors War Readiness Materials (WRM)
and mobility equipment requirements to ensure all authorizations are on hand,
on order, or included in appropriate budget document. Ensures Block III (AFEMS
CBT and supplemental) training is conducted for all Equipment/ SPRAMS custodians
and Block IV training for deployed custodians. Functions as the base Equipment
Review Approval Authority in verifying and validating equipment requests in
accordance with established Allowance Source Codes (ASC), and completing
actions as required for Equipment Authorization Inventory Data (EAID)
accounting. Interprets ASC and other data as it relates to weapons systems and
base authorization for equipment to identify valid requirements, and prepare
change requests to ensure that equipment authorizations are maintained within
applicable allowance. Manages all equipment items with the exception of
vehicles. Ensures unit requirements have been categorized as Critical/Important
in the Equipment Requirement System (ERS) and has matching requisitions in all
automated systems. Ensures a semi-annual reconciliation of all Communications
Security (COMSEC) items and annual small arms reconciliation are processed and
all discrepancies resolved. ) Creates
computer inputs, maintains Master CA/CRL Jacket Files and Master SPRAM Jacket
Files, and corrects errors identified on listings relating to equipment. Schedules and reviews organizational
equipment/SPRAMS accounts in conjunction with custodians annual inventory. Develops,
implements, and provides for administrative functions in the element. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working
relationships with the MAJCOM Command Equipment Management Office (CEMO), GLSC,
supported organizations, and higher headquarters.
