This position is located in the Internal Medicine Department of the Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL.

·         Receives patients and telephone calls to the clinic, obtains identifying information, and determines nature and urgency of patients’ request.

·         Schedules appointments and maintains appointment utilizing automated patient record systems such as Composite Healthcare Systems (CHCS), Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) or equivalent.

·         Obtains all medical charts prior to patient arrival to the clinic.

·         Reviews charts to determine patients’ eligibility for requested medication.

·         Arranges into final form, daily/monthly reports.

Typing Requirement: This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Please include your typing speed within your application.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: You must demonstrate at least one year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE :  Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:  2 years above high school.  This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:   Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
