Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield are the Army's world-class training, and military armored power projection combination on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States.

Club Stewart is a beautiful facility with 7 function rooms that can accommodate 50-500 guests.


Flexible positions will normally be scheduled between 0-40 hours per week dependent upon the needs of the organization. There are no guaranteed hours for flexible positions.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: Works under the direction of the Club Manager, who provides general instructions, standard procedures, and policies, and relies on the incumbent to control work operations and accomplish an adequate quality of work. Work is reviewed for efficient and economical accomplishment of assigned tasks within priorities and controls received.

MAJOR DUTIES: Serves as a working supervisor over the kitchen work area exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations, and performs non-supervisory cook duties. 

PLANNING: Plans use of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods and policies set by supervisor. Participates in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs and estimates.

WORK DIRECTION: Assigns work/tasks to individuals, and explains work requirements, methods and procedures, and provides instructions in new procedures. Investigates and determines causes for work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity. Implements corrective actions to resolve work problems; and recommends solutions to staffing problems. Inspects completed work for quality and production.

ADMINISTRATION: Plans and establishes overall leave schedule. Determines training needs and is responsible for training new employees. Sets performance standards and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Initiates recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates. Recommends disciplinary actions, and selects the most suitable applicants for vacancies. Investigates grievances and complaints, resolves them informally and notifies supervisors of those of a serious nature. Ensures safety and sanitation procedures and practices are observed. Maintains work reports and records.


Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to supervise employees engaged in cooking duties.

Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.

Ability to read, understand, and apply instructions. 

Possess experience and training in food preparation.

Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.

Ability to occasionally lift and move objects weighing over 40 pounds with the assistance of lifting devices or other workers.

Ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for prolonged periods of time.

Possess or ability to obtain and maintain a Food Handler's Certification.


Best qualified are the candidates who possess the ability to lead a la carte menu shift such as Panera Bread, Atlanta Bread Company, or similar casual dining restaurant and the ability to cater food at events such as wedding receptions, parties, brunches and themed buffets.

These candidates will be referred first.





Conditions of employment:


1. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

2. 4. Social Security Card must be presented at time of appointment.

5. Must successfully complete a physical that will be initiated prior to appointment to a NAF position.

6. Will be required to work weekends, nights and holidays.
