If a New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJARNG, and may be required to attend U.S. Army Basic Training. Applicant may contact an Army National Guard Recruiter.
If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

This is a Dual Status Excepted
Service Technician position in the New Jersey Army National Guard.
APPLICANTS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM RANK:
Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered. Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank. If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion. Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers may be allowed to reduce their Officer/Warrant Officer rank to Enlisted only. Military recruiters can provide Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers with specifics applicable to the applicant.
MILITARY POSITION: Any unit in the New Jersey Army National Guard.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP STATUS: Employment in this position requires concurrent military assignment to a compatible military position in the New Jersey National Guard in one of the following military specialty codes:

The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position: A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.
Performs overhaul, maintenance, and repair on
a variety of small arms that involve numerous parts,
subassemblies, adjustments, and must be adjusted to close tolerances. Disassembles
weapons, assemblies, subassemblies and other components. Uses hand and power
tools, precision gauges, test instruments, jigs and alignment devices in making
repairs, modifications, and adjustments to small arms. Ensures the accountability,
storage, and security of arms and other sensitive items while they are kept for
repair, usually in vaults with limited access. May serve as a commodity
inspector during Command Maintenance Management evaluations (COMET) or as a
member of a Maintenance Assistance Instruction Team (MAIT).
