The Veterans Affairs Medical Center located in Cincinnati, OH is currently looking for one (1) Full-Time Permanent Registered Nurse, Chief, Quality Management Service. The Chief, Quality Management Service is supervised locally by the Medical Center Director.   Chief, Quality Management Service is also accountable to the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 10 Quality Management Officer.

Duties

The Chief, Quality Management has responsibility and accountability for the administration, supervision and direction of assigned Quality Management Utilization Reviewer Analysts, the Revenue Medical Care Cost Fund (MCCF) Utilization Review (UR) Analyst, the Accreditation Specialist/Risk Manager, the Performance Improvement Coordinator and Program Specialist staff.  The Chief, Quality Management works in collaboration with physicians and medical center leadership to meet the organizations mission and goals. Your duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

 

   •  Designs, implements, coordinates, and evaluates an integrated Quality Management Program for the

       Medical Center and all components, to include direct oversight of Performance Improvement, Risk   

       Management, External Accreditation, and Utilization Management/MCCR Review as evidenced by continuous

       improvement in patient care services. 
   •  Operates under broadly delegated authority to influence organizational mission, participate in strategic

       planning and carry out initiatives to meet national, VISN and Medical Center goals and objectives.
   •  Plays a critical role in organizational performance improvement as a member of the interdisciplinary

       leadership team.  
   •  Responsible for the oversight of accreditation reviews, such as Office of the Inspector General (OIG), System

       -wide Ongoing Assessment and Review Strategy (SOARS), and Joint Commission.      
   •  Interacts with customers, including veterans, employees, peers, and general public and utilizes the following

WORK SCHEDULE:  The work hours for this position are primarily Monday through Friday on the day tour. The candidate may be required to work evenings or weekends as needed to meet program needs.
