This is an internship for those majoring in finance, economics, investments, accounting or a related field of study who have recently been accepted in or are currently enrolled at least half-time in a degree seeking program in an accredited college or university, graduate, or professional school. Half-time is typically 6 semester hours for undergraduates but may be determined by the school.


This position is located in the Corporate Investments Department, Investment Operations Division.

As a Student Trainee (Financial Analysis) you may:
Assist with the transfer of assets to the PBGC from terminated and trusteed pension plans.
Provide assistance to analysts in identifying and resolving investment and asset management problems.
Assist analysts in monitoring prospective investment management and asset liquidation firms to determine and evaluate the techniques and resources available to meet the Corporation's future needs.

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Completion of one full academic year of graduate level education.

You will start at $20.22 per hour (GS 7) if you meet the following minimum qualification requirements:
Have (and maintain) a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.8 if undergraduate. Graduate students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Must be in good academic standing (you must not be on academic probation).
You must remain enrolled at least half-time in order to continue to be eligible for the Pathways Internship Program.
