This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Atlantic Area (LANTAREA), District Five, Sector Hampton Roads, Intelligence Staff, in Portsmouth, VA.
The incumbent is responsible for the execution of all Coast Guard missions within its Area of Responsibility (AOR) with operation support from Coast Guard cutters and air stations.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Receiving and analyzing highly specialized, particularly sensitive intelligence information from multiple sources
- Responding to requests for tactical support and intelligence requirements by preparing first order intelligence reports, collection plans, and guides for the field intelligence collectors; and reviewing and evaluating incoming intelligence reports and information, collection plans, and program
- Providing information pertaining to the most complex or strategically important intelligence in support of operations, and provide and interpret detailed information about specific projects
- Analyzing and evaluating large volumes of intelligence materials of a highly specialized, particularly sensitive nature, relative to their importance and impact on foreign policy
