The Ohio National Guard seeks to employ high quality applicants for Federal Technician positions. This position requires military membership in the Ohio National Guard.

This position is located in the Military Personnel Office (MILPO), Plans and Actions Branch.  The purpose of the position is to perform a variety of administrate and office management duties, in support of the education and incentives programs and also to provide information to qualified personnel.

Receives, Researches, and processes.  Performs a variety of administrate functions in support of the Educations Services Programs in a State.  Administers tests, assures that test are conducted in accordance with standard procedures prescribed in the applicable regulations, and maintains records of results achieved.  Consolidates, reviews, and request data from the Information Management and Reporting Center (iMARC)/Guard Incentives Management System (GIMS), and other databases.  Provides information and briefings concerning educational services such as Montgomery G.I. bill (MGIB), all levels of educational programs and courses, tuition assistance, and other services available to qualified personnel who have requested this information.  Maintains and updates State Education Web Site.  Receives and process invoices from institutions.  Recoup Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) when applicable.  Performs other duties as assigned.

General ExperienceExperience, education, or training which provided progressively responsible clerical experience or other work which demonstrated the ability to acquire and to apply practical knowledge and understanding of the program objectives, policies, procedures, and requirements relating to the work of the position.  Experience using computer and automation systems.

Specialized Experience: (GS - 07) - 12 months experience in which the applicant demonstrates:

1.  Experience providing administrative, clerical or support duties, preparing and submitting reports.

2.  Experience gathering and assembling data into proper formats as directed by oral or written instructions.

3.  Experience maintaining records and establishing a filing system.

4.  Experience and ability to follow agency directives in monitoring and controlling a testing environment.

5.  Experience developing lesson plans and assuring plans are followed.


Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  A copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of experience.  Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.  Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience.

Requirements

This position is being announced in accordance with state merit promotion procedures and collective bargaining agreement. Wearing of the appropriate military uniform is required while employed in this position. Permanent change of duty station (PCS) funds are not available. 

 

If you are an AGR and are selected for this position, you will be required to vacate your AGR status. 

 

Successful applicant will be assigned to a compatible military position (42 A) in an appropriate unit of assignment in the Ohio National Guard.
