This position is full-time that reports directly to the Deputy COS (Outpatient Services).
The selected Chief Health Information Officer (CHIO) is responsible for supporting the Informatics and Analytics program at the Atlanta VA Medical Center (Atlanta VAMC) by managing and guiding the process by which clinical data is collected, organized, stored, and transformed into information and knowledge. The incumbent leads multiple facility wide clinical programs, including: Telemedicine, Tele-ICU, My HealtheVet; Home Telehealth, Clinical Video Teleconference, Store and Forward Telehealth, E-consults, Secure Messaging, and SCAN-ECHO. This position reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) Outpatient and directly collaborates with the Information Security Officer, Biomedical Engineering, Quality Management, Infection Control, IT, and Clinical end-user service lines including: Primary Care, Medicine Specialty Care, and Decision Support System (DSS) to analyze health information.
