All applicants must meet the Basic Requirements for the GS-2210 series:
Education - A bachelor's or higher graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, or related information technology field; OR
Experience - Information Technology experience that demonstrated proficiency in the following competencies: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail; 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services; 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
For the GS-12 level: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-11 level working as a journeyman software engineer monitoring the implementation of systems and/or changes and serves as a source of contact for customer information. Drafts and coordinates documentation for implementation of approved systems. Observes and evaluates systems performance and responses, taking action to correct errors and inadequacies. Experience related to VA Kernel & VA FileMan. Experience in applying VISTA Imaging Radiology, clustered systems, text gateway, imaging gateways, routing gateways, optical jukeboxes, and RPMS or VISTA hospital information systems. Experience working with Picture Archiving and Communication systems (PACS).
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations. research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above the required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
You will be rated based on the information provided in your resume (your resume must state specific duties that relate to this position ) and your responses to the assessment questions will be evaluated against the duties you provided in your resume, along with your submitted documentation to determine your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge of design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of VistA Imaging software.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming related to medical facilities.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
