ILLINOIS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Illinois National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Open Areas of Consideration: 1, 2, 3  The first area of consideration will be permanent and indefinite technicians on board with the 182nd AW/264th CBCS/169th ASOS/182d ASOS.  The second area of consideration will be individuals holding membership in the Illinois Air National Guard.  The third area of consideration will be individuals eligible to acquire membership with the Illinois Air National Guard.  Applicants who meet the first area of consideration will be considered before those who meet the second and/or third area of consideration.  Applicants who meet the second area of consideration will be considered before those who meet the third area of consideration.

Performs duties to provide storage and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or any other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems. Compiles, correlates, and submits various reports pertaining to unit logistics functions; and provides Inventory Management technical guidance and policy direction for the organization.  Manages organizational supply support to include: (a) timely acquisition of supplies, (b) Clothing (Issue/Storage/Recovery), (c) Organizational Bench Stock program, (d) Routine and Priority maintenance supply support, (e) Processing of Mobility Mission Capability (MICAP) requirements, (f) Due In For Maintenance (DIFM) asset management, (g) Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) processing.  Resolves supply difficulties, confirms maintenance supply data and status, forecasts supply requirements through coordination with internal and external agencies to include base supply, weapons systems program managers, Item Managers, commercial vendors, and production work centers.  Manages the Mobility Readiness Spares Packages (MRSPs). Orders, inspects, accounts for, and controls the replacement parts, components and sub-assemblies for assigned equipment that comprise the MRSP. Coordinates serviceability and/or functional checks of identified items with the using work center.  Monitors and replaces shelf life items. Designs, packs, and documents the MRSP for deployment.  Manages the Mobility Bag (MOBAG) program.   Maintains and/or distributes required supply records. Is responsible for the timeliness, accuracy and distribution of organizational Standard Base Supply System (SBSS) documents.  Serves as the organizations Precious Metals Recovery Program (PRMP) monitor. May be responsible to establish and maintain a collection/satellite collection point for Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT).  Responsible for documentation of accomplished training in a timely manner.  May require use of automated training documentation system.  Performs as primary custodian for any assigned equipment and/or Special Purpose Recoverable Accounts Maintenance (SPRAM), and performs duties pertaining to munitions procurement, storage, distribution, and accounting to achieve unit training readiness levels.  Develops, establishes and maintains work center training programs. Plans and schedules tasks and training activities for drill status guard members.  Oversees and conducts on-the-job training (OJT) for personnel.  Provides current data concerning the logistics and supply status of the unit and the support required and available for current or proposed operations as required.   Serves as a point of contact to which customers refer supply problems that have not been satisfactorily resolved at other levels. Advise section supervisors of changes within the supply system. Acts as the focal point for comparison of Supply performance within prescribed directives.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:  Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered.  Experience using computer and automation systems.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  GS-07 level:  Must possess 12 months: experience, education, or training which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment.  Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts.  Experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.  GS-06 level:  Must possess 9 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment.  Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for routine supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts.  Experience performing routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.  GS-05 level:  Must possess 6 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned.  Experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more automated supply databases to enter and retrieve recurring reports.  Experience using working knowledge of the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:  High school graduate or the equivalent may be substituted for three months of specialized experience. Education in schools above the high school level may be substituted for experience on the basis of one academic year of study (i.e., 36 weeks or substantially full-time study or 30 semester hours or the equivalent.) for 12 months of the required experience. For experience required in excess of 24 months, education in schools above the high schools level may be substituted at the rate of one academic year of education for six months of experience. School above high schools level means an educational institution (e.g., a business or commercial school or college, a secretarial school, a junior college or a college or university.) for which high school graduation or the equivalent is a prerequisite and in which an applicant successfully completed study which was not primarily limited to courses in word processing and keyboarding or both. Substantially full-time study in the case of business and commercial schools is the equivalent of at least 20 classroom hours of instruction per week. One academic year consists of approximately 36 weeks of substantially full-time study or 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.
