Position Location: 165th Logisitcs Readiness Squadron, 165th AW, Savannah, GA.

Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP): Acceptance of a Federal Excepted technician position of over 179 days in length will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP).

Type of Appointment: This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent dual-status, position which requires Georgia Air National Guard membership.

Job Summary: This position is located in the Logistics Readiness Squadron, Mission Support Group, at an ANG Aviation Wing. The position is the Customer Service Representative performing Flight Service Center (FSC) duties within the Maintenance Support Section.  The primary purpose is the point of contact for interfacing with the Global Logistics Support Center (GLSC) on behalf of the maintenance customers. Responsibilities include periodic visits to maintenance work centers; providing guidance for maintaining bench, operating, and shop stock; and assisting users in resolving any materiel management related problems; managing supply points, time-change, time compliance technical orders, Due-in From Maintenance (DIFM) management, awaiting parts, turn-around, local manufacture, command intensive management items, quality deficiency report programs, and the Air Force Repair Enhancement Program.

Background Check: Selectee may, at the option of the agency, be required to submit to criminal, credit history, and general background checks which will be evaluated by the agency prior to a final offer of employment and access into the Georgia National Guard Federal Technician or Active Guard/Reserve program. 

National Guard Membership: This position requires military membership. It is designated for Georgia Air National Guard Enlisted incumbent only. In accordance with ANG regulations, incumbent performs duties necessary to accomplish Supply Technician functions in support of programs essential to state Air National Guard daily operations, training and readiness missions.

As  a member of a unit of the Georgia Air National Guard, you will be required to train with your unit, normally one weekend a month and 15 days of annual training each year. Georgia Air National Guard units and members are subject to immediate call to federal or state active duty to meet national or state emergencies.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a current U.S. Citizen.
  • Under 5 USC 2108 & 5 CFR 211, Veteran's Preference criteria does not apply.
  • Direct Deposit Banking is Mandatory.
  • Military Requirement: Enlisted AFSC 2S0X1.

The following list is not comprehensive but provides a snapshot of some of the duties that may be required of this position:

  • Performs mission capability (MICAP) verification, reports and processes cannibalization actions.
  • Establishes requirements for customer using automated systems and notifies customer of asset availability.
  • Processes Aircraft Document Review (ADR).
  • Manages the DIFM listing, validates/updates DIFM listing with status by processing required transaction as necessary.
  • Performs coordination with the customer service support element to ensure requisition objective is adequate.
  • Completes required AWP checklist and processes necessary transaction to confirm status.
  • Maintains Tail Number Bin (TNB) and Due-Out Release (DOR) point.
  • Reviews Two-Level Maintenance (2LM) metrics listing and takes appropriate action to improve repair cycle time.
  • Establish, maintain and delete bench stocks in coordination with supported activities.
  • During periods of manpower constraints may be required to pull and deliver parts from various storage points.
  • Performs reject management and working management listings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

General Experience: Applicant must have experience which provide training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems.

Specialized Experience:  Applicant must have at least 12 months specialized experience which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment.  Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts.  Experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):  Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the Selecting Official based on the following KSAs considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

  • Knowledge of requisitions, supporting documents and reference material to perform material coordination storage management responsibility for special programs, maintenance, and production shops.
  • Knowledge of established supply regulations, policies, procedures, and other instructions applicable to the specific assignment.
  • Knowledge to conduct extensive and exhaustive searches for required information in order to reconstruct records for complex supply transactions.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management, such as inventory management, excess property, storage management etc. 

 


Other Requirements: For positions requiring  the operation of motor vehicles, selectee must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

For positions requring a security clearance (Secret or Top  Secret), selectee must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

National Guard Compatibility:  Once an applicant is selected and prior to being placed in the technician position, the selectee must be assigned to the 165th Logisitcs Readiness Squadron in the Georgia Air National Guard as an Enlisted member in AFSC: 2S071.

Rank inversion is strictly prohibited.

Wear of the Air Force uniform as prescribed by AFR/NGB/GA NGR is required for incumbent of this position.  Acceptance of this position constitutes concurrence with this requirement as a condition of employment.
