The Tax Division has approximately 350 attorneys dedicated to enforcing the nations tax laws. Working closely with the nations 94 U.S. Attorneys Offices, Tax Division attorneys are responsible for most affirmative and defensive civil litigation arising under the internal revenue laws in federal district, bankruptcy, and appellate courts, and in state courts, and for handling or supervising most federal criminal tax prosecutions. The Tax Division is seeking a highly-qualified Secretary to provide administrative support to the Criminal Appeals and Tax Enforcement Policy Section (CATEPS) of the Tax Division. This position offers a great opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of tax administration and enforcement.
