NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:  This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatibility assignment in the National Guard.  Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

 

AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

AREA I - All New Jersey National Guard (NJNG) Technicians

AREA II - All Members of the New Jersey National Guard (NJNG)

 

If a New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJARNG, and may be required to attend U.S. Army Basic Training.  Applicant may contact an Army National Guard Recruiter.

 

If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

APPLICANTS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM RANK:

Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered.   Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank.   If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion.   Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers may be allowed to reduce their Officer/Warrant Officer rank to Enlisted only.   Military recruiters can provide Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers with specifics applicable to the applicant.

 

MILITARY POSITION:  Any unit in the New Jersey Army National Guard.

 

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP STATUS:  Employment in this position requires concurrent military assignment to a compatible military position in the New Jersey National Guard in one of the following military specialty codes:

MOS: MUST HAVE 42A, 79T

 

NOTE:  THE INDIVIDUAL SELECTED HAS ONE YEAR TO OBTAIN ADVERTISED AFSC/MOS

 

LEVEL OF CLEARANCE/INVESTIGATION:  MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE WITHIN THE 1ST YEAR OF HIRE.

Duties

The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position:  A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.

 

DUTIES: 

Provides technical guidance and procedural support to the AMEDD Strength Manager, Recruiting & Retention Manager, Officer Strength Manager, Military Personnel Office (MILPO), State Surgeon/Deputy State Surgeon, State Chaplain, State

SJA, commanders, unit personnel, field recruiters, and healthcare ministry and legal professionals.  Coordinates and participates in recruiting efforts both locally and nationally at recruiting events such as medical conferences, medical school and dental school programs.  Serves as principle point of contact for applicants and other interested parties during the recruiting and application process.  Provides monthly reports and regular updates to the AMEDD Strength Manager, Recruiting and Retention Manager, NGB and/or Credentialing Officer to advise on the status of accessions or losses of the various career fields.  Prepares requests for the conditional release of applicants from other military services or transfers between states.  Composes and prepares a variety of correspondence directed to local, national, civilian, military, professional groups, associations , and educational institutions concerning recruitment and educational programs in response in inquiries as a part of healthcare, ministry and legal advertising campaigns.
