Position Location: 93rd Finance Company, Clay National Guard Center, Marietta, GA 

Permanent Change of Station (PCS): PCS is not authorized.

Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP): Acceptance of a Federal Excepted technician position of over 179 days in length will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP).

Type of Appointment: This is a full-time, Excepted Indefinite, dual-status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership.

Job Summary: This position is located in a Company, Battery, Troop or Detachment size unit of the Army National Guard (ARNG). The purpose of the position is to serve as the unit commander’s full-time representative responsible for day-to-day unit level supply and maintenance activities of the unit. 

Background Check:  Selectee may, at the option of the agency, be required to submit to criminal, credit history, and general background checks which will be evaluated by the agency prior to a final offer of employment and access into the Georgia National Guard Federal Technician or Active Guard/Reserve program.

National Guard Membership: This position requires military membership. It is designated for Georgia Army National Guard Enlisted incumbent(s) only. In accordance with ARNG regulations, incumbent performs duties necessary to accomplish military Supply Technician functions in support of programs essential to state Army National Guard daily operations, training and readiness missions.

As a member of a Georgia Army National Guard unit, you will be required to train with your unit, normally one weekend a month and 15 days of annual training each year. Georgia Army National Guard units and members are subject to immediate call to federal or state active duty to meet national or state emergencies.

  • Must be a current U.S. Citizen.
  • Under 5 USC 2108 & 5 CFR 211, Veteran's Preference criteria does not apply.

The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required of this position:

  • Responsible for the individual clothing records for unit members including accountability, requisition, distribution, and maintenance.  
  • Prepares requests, receives, issues, and monitors accountability of Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment. 
  • Maintains accounting records and makes recommendations to the Unit Commander for the expenditure of allocated funds for expendable, durable, and non-expendable supplies.  
  •  Coordinates pre-positioning of logistical items, picks up supplies, draws billeting, buses and other items at training sites and other servicing agencies. 
  • Coordinates food service tasks ensuring ration requests purchase or draw of rations, cash collection for meals, are handled in accordance with published guidance. 
  • Provides guidance and assists senior graded personnel in IDT and AT logistical planning and preparation. 
  • Oversees the issuance and turn-in of equipment for all unit level actions and activities.  
  •  Ensures logistical items are properly stored and coordinates unit personnel to periodically check items in storage for accountability and serviceability. 
  • Serves as unit physical security coordinator ensuring the security book, arms room keys and other items are properly accounted and cared for. 
  • Assists, as directed, unit members in the preparation of training and evaluation outlines, proper methods of instruction and obtaining reference material and teaching aids. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    General Experience: Must have experience in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered.  Experience using computer and automation systems.

    Specialized Experience: Must have at least 9 months specialized experience, which demonstrates knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment.  Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for routine supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts.  Experience performing routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management. 

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):  Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the Selecting Official based on the following KSAs considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

    • Knowledge of the operations of the supported unit sufficient to perform day to day logistical and maintenance functions and to provide guidance and assistance to unit senior military personnel.
    • Knowledge of logistical functions sufficient to research, coordinate and request all classes of supply, loan items and training aids for unit’s training and operations.
    • Knowledge of local supply systems sufficient to ensure logistical items are properly ordered, received, stored, issued, and replenished.     
    • Knowledge of one or more automated supply databases to enter, correct, maintain, update and retrieve recurring and specialized reports as required.

     

     


    Other Requirements: For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must posses or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.   

    National Guard Compatibility: Once an applicant is selected and prior to being placed in the technician Supply Technician position, the selectee must be assigned to any unit in the Georgia Army National Guard as an  Enlisted member in ECMF: 42, 92.  Rank inversion is strictly prohibited.

    Wear of the Army uniform as prescribed by AR/NGB/GA NGR is required for incumbent of this position.  Acceptance of this position constitutes concurrence with this requirement as a condition of employment.
