Responsible for providing support and assistance to registered and certified FCC providers.  Assists FCC Director and Trainer in helping providers translate professional development training into practice.  Helps providers create developmentally appropriate childcare environments.  Shares strategies for balancing home life and FCC.  Conducts home visits as required for the purpose of providing support and assistance.  Assists Food and Nutrition Specialist in conducting required home nutrition inspections.  Assists professional FCC staff in helping providers achieve home accreditation and Child Development Associate/School-Age Credentials, and with training needs as required.  Supports program operations by facilitating the FCC provider's support group, planning field trips, coordinating group activities, and arranging home observations for all providers.  Uses designated evaluation materials to ensure assigned area is in compliance with standards and procedures as outlined in applicable regulations and program management guides. 


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1.  Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.

2.  Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).

3.  Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.

4.  Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis.

5.  Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.

6.  Possess a CDA/School-Age/Youth Credential (including Boys and Girls Clubs of America)/ Army Youth Practicum.

7.  Possess 12 months of experience working as a Family Child Care (FCC) provider (from the date of provisional certification) in a military FCC program.  Demonstrated work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

OR

1.  Possess BA/BS degree with a major emphasis on ECE, Elementary Education, Child Development, Home Economics, Special Education or a related field.

2.  Possess work experience directly related to the duties to be performed.

3.  Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.

4.  Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).

5.  Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis.

6.  Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.


Conditions of employment:

1. A one-year probationary period may be required.

2. Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements.

3.  Satisfactorily complete an employment verification check. 

4. Successfully complete all required background checks to include a health screening.

5.  Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.

NOTE: Employment will be denied or terminated if your background checks reveal any of the following: Conviction for a sexual offense, a drug felony – or any drug related offense, a violent crime, or a criminal offense involving a child or children.
