JOB SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Information Security Operations Branch Chief for the United States Mint and is physically located in Washington, DC.     This position is located in the Information Security Division.
    As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:

    • Conduct network technical vulnerability scans and penetration testing and implements technical security solutions to enforce Federal, Treasury and United States Mint policy and standards for IT security.
    • Manage and operate, with a high degree of reliability, information systems security infrastructure to provide security incident identification, response and remediation capabilities for a wide area network, including hands-on expertise in intrusion detection and prevention technologies.
    • Analyze and documents current security architecture to identify security vulnerabilities and develops findings and recommendations for mitigating system vulnerabilities.
    • Recommend improvements for efficiencies through the use of current and new technologies as appropriate.
    • Configure port, web, application, and vulnerability scanners to scan a defined range of IP addresses.

    Specialized Experience:
    For the GS-14, All candidates are required to have 52 weeks of Specialized experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent in the federal service, public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience designing and maintaining information security architecture for an agency’s information technology, infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, Internet, extranet, and intranet.
    In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2)customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving. Experience must be IT-related.

    The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
