Job Summary:

Interdisciplinary Pain Rehab Program/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation service at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN is recruiting a Nurse Practitioner who will serve as a member of the interdisciplinary pain rehabilitation team.  This individual will work closely with the Director of the Pain Rehab Program and the pain treatment team and will report to the Physical Medicine & Rehab Service (PM&RS).  The position is primarily M-F 8a-4:30p, no holidays or weekends, with occasional need for schedule flexibility for special circumstances.

SALARY RANGE:  Applicant's education and experience will be reviewed by a Professional Standards Board in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy.


  • Provide care to a caseload of patients in the outpatient Neurology/Rehabilitation Pain Clinics;
  • Provide consultation for Pain Management throughout the hospital setting
  • Provide education in pain management In collaboration with the Coordinator, Pain Programs
  • Work with Coordinator, Pain Programs on hospital pain QI and the Pain Resource Nurse program  
  • Work In collaboration with the Coordinator, Pain Programs to ensure JCAHO and CARF accreditation for pain management.
  • Provide clinical coordination of specialized services for assigned caseload of patients at facility level as well as the VISN level
  • Initiate interdisciplinary treatment plans
  • Triage and Coordinate care from initial consultation through reestablishment with PCC
  • Participate in service-wide and hospital-wide quality improvement activities
