- Responsible for overseeing the functional operations of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD). 

- Manages the physical drawing database.

- Maintains an accurate and up-to-date electronic inventory of record drawings and assigns numbers for new drawings.

- Prepares general and complex layouts and engineering drawings for assigned portions of water resource projects consisting of dams, powerplants, pumping plants, irrigation distribution systems, and facility infrastructures.

- Works with engineers, technical staff, and field journeyman personnel in making suitable drawings, graphs, charts and curves depicting project plans; and prepares visual aids for design briefings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

GS-9: One year specialized experience equivalent difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-8 level in the federal government.

DEFINITION OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To meet specialized experience, your resume must describe experience that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities as follows:

GS-9: Experience creating and revising existing drawings and written documentation, utilizing knowledge of drafting practices, procedures and standards (including AutoCAD).  This includes collecting and verifying field data, reviewing and verifying electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and piping system installations, and conducting point-to-point checks on those system installations, as it applies to the design, construction, and operations and maintenance of water storage, pump, and power generation features and facilities.


You must meet all qualification requirements and any selective placement factors by the closing date of this announcement.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

Category rating and selection procedures will be used for evaluating this position.  If you meet the basic qualification requirements, your on-line responses to the vacancy assessment questionnaire will be used to determine the quality and extent of your experience, education, training, etc., for placement in one of the following categories:  1) Highly Qualified 2) Qualified. Qualified candidates will be assigned a numerical score on a scale of 70-100 and Veterans with preference will be placed at the top of their respective category.  The assessment questionnaire will take you approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Applicants will be further evaluated on the following "Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)" through your resume and responses to the online questions:

1. General knowledge of basic techniques related to the engineering and science fields of study as they relate to drawing management.
2. Knowledge of drawing management and drafting practices, procedures, and standards.
3. Skill in using AutoCad.
4. Skill in project management.
