About the Position:
This position is part of the Army Civilian Training, Education, and Development System (ACTEDS) and is a CIVILIAN position with the Department of Army. The incumbent will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist trainee with the Communications-Electronics Research Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC).

  • This is a Career Program (CP) #15 position.
  • Completes formal and informal classroom training, on-the-job training, and self development training as set forth in the CP-15 Quality and Reliability Assurance Development Plan, as well as, an Individual Development Plan.
  • If selected for this position, a signed mobility agreement is a condition of employment. This agreement states that in order to be placed in the intern program, or upon graduation from the intern program, you may be assigned to any location, within the Department of Army and that you will move to the new duty location. Failure to relocate can be used as the basis for non-selection. Failure to relocate after appointment can be the basis for your removal from Federal service.

    The Department of the Army Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Department of Army intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government.
    After Program completion, Department of the Army Recent Graduates MAY be converted to a permanent position.
    To be eligible for conversion to a permanent or term position, Recent Graduates must:

  • Successfully completed at least 1-year of continuous service in addition to all requirements of the Program.
  • Demonstrate successful job performance.
  • Meet the Office of Personnel Management’s qualifications for the position to which the Recent Graduate will be converted

    Positions are open to

  • Recent graduates who have completed, within the previous two years with a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution.
  • Veterans unable to apply within two years of receiving their degree, due to military service obligation, have as much as six years after degree completion to apply.
  • Duties

    As a Quality Assurance Specialist (INTERN) you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

    • Assist in analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality and/or inspection system.
    • Assist in verifying that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance.
    • Assist in identifying inadequacies and recommending corrective action.
    • Assist in computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports and/or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods.
    • Assist in reading, interpreting and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, and/or technical manuals.
