About the Position: This position is located at Fort Hamilton in Southern New York City, Bay Ridge Brooklyn, at the base of the world famous Verrazano Narrows Bridge, which is a viable cultural area. It is 20 minutes to mid-town Manhattan. Since Spring 1998, the Fort Hamilton Military Community has been home to the North Atlantic Division, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. Commuter buses and trains are readily accessible from this location.

You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist (Mechanical) in the Directorate of Public Works at Fort Hamilton. Monitor and evaluate contracted services from inception to conclusion. Use accepted surveillance principles and techniques to perform systematic inspections and evaluations in the areas of mechanical heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and supporting functions. Ensure quality and timely work performance is provided by the contractor. Conduct inspection reviews of contracted services and determine acceptability and/or non-acceptability of performance. Prepare contract reports and briefings as required. Analyze contractor performance and develop input to management officials. Maintain a daily log or checklist on all factors pertinent to the various services performed which indicates work accomplished; notes deficiencies; complaints received and action taken; safety and security violations; and various other factors. Determine valid workload changes and recurring requirements brought about by changes in procedures and operations.
