The Assistant Clinical Director provides and directs general medical, professional, medical/surgical care services to incarcerated male offenders.
Under direct supervision of the Clinical Director, the Assistant Clinical Director is responsible for clinical care provided at each institution, maintaining clinical supervision of the outpatient clinic of the Low Security Correctional Institution, the two Federal Correctional Institutions and a Federal Prison Camp. This includes reviewing applications and credentials for membership to the medical staff, implementing and monitoring in house Continuing Professional Education (CPE) training, maintaining the quality of health records, and evaluating patient care through an ongoing quality assurance program that identifies problems and their resolution.
Coordinates and directs the professional care of patients in concurrence with administrative policies of the Bureau of Prisons and ensures that the quality of patient care is consistent with community standards of care as acknowledge by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JACHO).
Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
