JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:This job provides the opportunity to support the mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot; which is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. The Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance and is the world's largest helicopters overhaul and repair facility. CCAD serves as the depot training base for active duty Army, National Guard, Reserve and foreign military personnel. We also provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support. Positions include those providing support to the maintenance of helicopters in a variety of shops or in an office setting.

Serves as a Maintenance Requirements Planning (MRP)Specialist using daily MRP overnight program exception messages to determine what materials are needed to meet the constantly changing production requirements of the depot to keep the necessary balance between materialon-hand or scheduled to be on-hand to meet production demands. Maintains overall control of the materials budget for each assigned program in support ofoverhaul, repair, modification, manufacturing, and other processing on aircraft and/or aircraft parts, components, subassemblies, and assemblies of standards and/or non-standard parts. Prepares daily, weekly and monthly workload schedules considering status of work in progress, priorities, and specialprojects, availability of materials (standard and/or non-standard), equipment,man-hours and technical data requirements Coordinates MRP actions with other Specialists, Production Scheduling and can include vendors / OEMs to resolve parts or material shortages(standard and/or non-standard), recommend acceptable substitutes or local purchase/local manufacture initiatives, and request expediting actions for outstanding requisitions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.  Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized/General experience: To Qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized/general experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level. Specialized experience is defined as:

For GS-07:

Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level which includes: 1) experience with automation equipment systems such as the personal computer programs, processing procedures and/or function keys sufficient to execute office automation; and 2) assisted in requisitioning supplies.  

OR

1 full year of graduate level education. Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work or I have superior academic achievement. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification).

OR

A combination of specialized experience less than one year and have more than one year but less than 1 full year of graduate level education. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide you total 18 months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

For GS-09:

Have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or other equivalent pay system that is directly related to the work of the Maintenance Requirements Planning Specialist (Aircraft), GS-1101-09, which includes: 1) general experience with standardized supply or logistics methods, regulations, policies, and procedures; 2) general experience with automated systems such as the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), GSA, personal computer programs, processing procedures and/or function keys sufficient to execute office automation; and 3) general experience with requisitioning supplies using appropriate item histories, procurement documents, and computer listings.

OR

  1. Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in any subject area or LL.B. or J.D., if related . (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification).
    OR
    A combination of specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have more than one year but less than the required education in B.
