NEH is an independent grant-making agency of the government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities.

The principal role of the Office of Grant Management is to develop and implement policy, to serve as the primary source of grants management information and counsel to both agency staff and grantees, and to ensure uniform grants management by monitoring compliance with Federal laws, OMB circulars, and agency policy.


·          Manages the award process and subsequent grants administration. 

·          Independently establish, prioritize, and execute a work schedule, ensuring that the necessary planning, coordination, approvals, negotiation, and other requirements are completed.

·          Shares with program staff the responsibility for operating effective programs that fulfill the agency’s overall objectives and priorities.
