The Indian Health Service (IHS) is the principal federal health care provider and health advocate for American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN). The IHS goal is to raise Indian health status to the highest possible level. IHS provides leadership and direction to programs and activities designed to improve health outcomes to over 1.9 million AI/AN through a system of IHS, Tribal and Urban operated facilities and programs.

The position works a part-time, 10 hours per week on a prearranged schedule. The position clean and disinfect assigned area on a daily basis which includes exam tables, waiting room chairs, restroom fixtures, counter tops, medical stands, and exam room’s sinks at the Diabetes Program Work Area. The position reports to a Supervisory Health System Specialist.

You will be required to move and control heavy powered equipment; carry, set up, climb and work from ladders; frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects in excess of 50 pounds.


Works primarily indoors, but occasionally outdoors when shoveling snow. Is exposed to chemicals, cuts, bruises and injuries from falling.


A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence of experience, which demonstrates your skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position, must be supported by detailed descriptions of your experience in your resume.


Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element which appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire.
