You will serve as the Chief, RPMIB, as the principal manager for conceiving, designing, directing, evaluating, and improving NIAID's asset planning efforts. If selected for this position, you will perform the following duties:
Oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of many large, complex operations research models.
Direct all aspects of analyzing and developing long-range plans.
Provide authoritative advice on the likely future practicality and availability of funds and other critical resources.
Direct the work of analysts who develop and recommend revisions to long-range milestones, objectives, and plans.
Determine and authoritatively recommend long-term allocations of critical resources to competing national research programs.

Degree from an accredited college or university in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics; at least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. In addition to the minimum requirements, you must meet the following:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing and advising on operations research analytical and modeling techniques; identifying long-term resource requirements and developing milestones for mission critical programs; developing and evaluating strategic resource plans; analyzing resource allocations and making recommendations to meet long-range mission priorities; and providing resource modeling recommendations to senior level executives.
