Minimum Education Requirements:
A bachelor's (or graduate) degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, from an accredited college or university OR a combination of experience and education which includes courses comparable to a major in a biological science, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry or related disciplines appropriate to this position, plus appropriate experience or additional education which demonstrates similarly appropriate skills or abilities needed to perform the duties of this position.
In addition to meeting the basic qualification requirements indicated above, you must meet the additional experience and/or education requirement as described below:
To qualify for the GS-9, you must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing laboratory assistance to one or more senior investigators by performing routine laboratory experiments and dissections in support of animal research programs and projects; preparing detailed plans for experiments and procedures to be performed; collecting blood and tissue samples; reviewing the results of experiments for reliability by comparing them with data obtained from similar, prior experiments; and drawing tentative conclusions from experimental data and discussing modifications to experimental design or methods..
Have completed the requirements for a Master's or equivalent degree, or at least 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a related field.
Have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
Selective Factor: In order to meet minimum qualification requirements you must demonstrate possession of the selective factor of this position. Selective factor include: Experience or training in collecting, isolating, and culturing tissues infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb).
