JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

This vacancy will be used to fill a vacancy within the Community Recreation Division located on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The Recreation Assistant assist patrons in use of the facility by checking out equipment, providing safety instruction, and demonstrating new equipment.

This is a Flexible position and work schedule can be between 00-40 hours per week based on mission requirements and facility needs. You must be available to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

In a patron usage facility, circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory; receives and resolves customer complaints; provides information and general instructions on the use of equipment, facilities and machinery.

Assists patrons in use of the facility by checking out equipment, providing safety instruction, demonstrating new equipment, teaching classes, etc.

Plans, conducts, publicizes and arranges support for special events, social activities, tournaments and related functions. May provide work guidance to other staff.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Conditions of employment:

1. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and or/holiday.
