-Provides the planning and implementation of daily work schedules for subordinates  in operation and maintenance of the dam, reservoir, recreation parks, and coordination of water releases through the dam and/or power plant. 

-Determines from the regular inspections of Government facilities the need for maintenance and repairs and insures that aspects of the facility are in good operating condition.

-Responsible for the orientation and training of subordinates in acceptable safe working practices, including compliance with Reclamation's Construction Safety Standards.

-Responsible for gathering and submitting data, and making preliminary interpretations of instrumentation readings associated with the operation and maintenance of the dam

-Incumbent has frequent contact with officials of private and public organizations, municipal officials, and civic and recreational clubs.

GS: For the GS-10 level: 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-09 in the federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as experience in the field as performing dam operations and maintenance with minimum supervision, coordinating activities with the public and other agencies and experience in construction work or supervision.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

Category rating and selection procedures will be used to evaluate applications from this announcement. If you meet the basic qualification requirements, your on-line responses to the vacancy assessment questionnaire will be used to determine the quality and extent of your experience, education, training, etc., for placement in one of the following categories: 1) Best Qualified, 2) Well Qualified, and 3) Qualified. Qualified candidates will be assigned a numerical score on a scale of 70-100 and veterans with preference will be placed at the top of their respective category. The assessment questionnaire will take you approximately 45 minutes to complete.

Applicants will be further evaluated on the following “Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)” through your resume and responses to the online questions.

KSA 1: Knowledge of the theories and principles pertaining to the operation, maintenance, and management of a multipurpose reservoir, dam, and associated support facilities.

KSA 2:  Knowledge of heavy and light construction activities and equipment.

KSA 3:  Ability to effectively perform public relations functions associated with establishing and maintaining flood, power, irrigation, recreation, construction, and wildlife operations.

KSA 4:  Knowledge of land use management and administration.

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT:
