This position serves as a first line supervisor in an ORA District Office over one or more investigatory units of Consumer Safety Officers. The supervisor is recognized as the authority in the program segments, functions, and activities of the unit supervised. The supervisor is responsible for the technical and administrative supervision of all unit employees (including Consumer Safety Inspectors and support staff) which includes planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work and performance of those employees.

 

WHO MAY APPLY:  DHHS-Nationwide.  This vacancy is open to current permanent (career/career-conditional appointments) employees of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) only.  Current DHHS employees serving under a Schedule A appointment are eligible for consideration. LOCATION:  This position is located in the Food and Drug Administration, Office of Regulatory Affairs, New England District Office, Stoneham, MA.

 

TYPE OF POSITION:  This position is being filled on a full-time, permanent basis.

PROMOTION POTENTIAL:  GS-13 is the full performance level.  

Salary range listed includes locality pay.

Duties

If selected for this position, you will:

-  Perform the administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised.
-  Establish guidelines and performance expectations for staff, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system.
-  Develop and implement team-building techniques.
-  Provide input on subordinate staff to the next level management for consideration in strategic planning and budgets taking into account recommendations from team input.
