You may start at the GS-5 level if you have one of the following qualifications:
Have at least one full-time year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-4 level of the Federal service or private sector. Experience involved performing technical or clerical work to support the effective operation of the purchasing/procurement functions in an office. OR;
Have completed four full years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. OR;
Have a combination of successfully completed post-high school education (only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours is creditable) and specialized experience (i.e., 30 semester hours beyond the second year and 6 months of specialized experience).
You may start at the GS-6 level if you have one of the following qualifications:
Have at least one full-time year (12 months) of purchasing/procurement experience equivalent to the GS-5 level of the Federal service or private sector. My experience involved preparing simple/routine competitive or sole source small purchases, corresponding with vendors to discuss factors such as availability, government pricing, equipment warranties, and assisting with monitoring of shipment and delivery of incoming goods, etc. OR;
Have successfully completed at least six months of graduate education or master's or higher level graduate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
College Transcript : Submit a copy of your college transcript that lists college courses detailing each course by the number and department (i.e., bio 101, math 210, etc.), course title, number of credit hours and grade earned. You must submit evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution is equivalent to U.S. education standards with your resume.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION AND FINGERPRINT CHECK: Selection and retention in this position is contingent on a successfully adjudicated FBI National Criminal History Check (fingerprint check) and a background investigation.
CONFIDENTIAL FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE REPORT: If selected for this position, you will be required to submit an Annual Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of your initial appointment date, and annually thereafter.
