The DeCA operates a worldwide commissary system that provides quality grocery products at cost to active duty military personnel and retirees, members of the Reserve and National Guard, and their families. The agency employs about 18,000 people and its annual sales exceed $6 billion.
This is a developmental position. Work assignments are progressively complex and intended to broaden your skills and provide you with practical experience to prepare you to perform at the target grade level. At the target grade level the major duties are:
Assists the Grocery Manager in planning, organizing, and directing the semi-perishable division of the commissary
Responsible for the new item shelf placement process for all semi-perishable items.
Reviews shelf merchandise for product rotation, deterioration, spoilage, or other deficiencies.
Carries out established store policies and controls for semi-perishable merchandise ordering, receiving, and charge sales.
Ensures that individuals assigned to the Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE) program carry out assigned responsibilities in accordance with store policies.
