To be eligible for this position, you must meet one of the Basic Qualification Requirements, and if one of the Additional Qualification Requirements for the grade(s) to which you are applying.
Basic Qualification Requirements (all grade levels):
A. Completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field. NOTE: You must submit copies of college transcripts.
B. Completed at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. NOTE: You must submit copies of college transcripts.
Exceptions: Employees in GS-1102 positions will be considered to have met the standard for positions they occupy on January 1, 2000. Employees who occupy GS-1102 positions at grades 5 through 12 will be considered to meet the basic requirements for other GS-1102 positions up to and including those classified at GS-12. This includes positions at other agencies and promotions up through grade 12. However, employees must meet specialized experience requirements when seeking another position.
Additional Qualification Requirements for GS-07:
A. Completed a course of study with a major in any field and meet the Superior Academic Achievement provisions based on one of the following: (1) class standing (upper third standing in graduating class); (2) grade-point average (2.95 overall or over the last two years of bachelor's degree -or- 3.45 in your major field or over the last two years in your major); or (3) election to membership in a national scholastic honor society. NOTE: You must submit copies of college transcripts.
B. One full year (18 hours) of graduate level study in one of the following fields of study: accounting, business finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, and organization and management. NOTE: You must submit copies of college transcripts.
C. At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal Service that equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Examples of such specialized experience include: procuring supplies or services in support of a local installation or in a centralized procurement activity, reviewing requisition requests to ensure proper specifications or purchase descriptions, evaluating bids or proposals for compliance with specifications, and administering contracts by monitoring progress of contractors and taking action to address any issues..
D. A combination of graduate education and specialized experience that is qualifying for this position. Note: To determine if you qualify by combining experience and education, compute your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the total experience required; then determine your education as a percentage of the total education required. Add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100% to qualify. NOTE: You must submit copies of college transcripts.
Part-Time or Unpaid Experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.
Education: Transcripts ARE REQUIRED at the time of application to verify that you meet the educational requirement of this position.
Education must be accredited by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (particularly positions with a positive education requirement.) Therefore, applicants must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. · Background Investigation: You may need to successfully complete a background investigation before being appointed into the position.
· Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
· Time in Grade (TIG): Current employees must have a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade GS-grade level to be eligible under Merit Promotion. An SF-50 must be provided which shows your current pay plan/series/grade to verify time-in-grade requirements are met. Failure to provide an appropriate SF-50 will result in an ineligible rating.
· Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are not authorized for this position.
· Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
