This vacancy is for an Accountant position in the Office of Financial Services, Administrative Services Division, located at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis in Washington, DC.
The incumbent will serve as a staff member of the Budget Finance Section, Office of Financial Services within the Administrative Services Division. This position requires knowledge of government accounting records, appropriation law, and general best practices in budget execution & formulation. The individual will provide data analysis which leads to effective use of funds by performing data collection & analysis; tracking transactions, reconciling & verifying; preparing status of funds reports; providing estimates of expenditures and personnel costs for year-end close & formulation. The candidate will work independently and in groups to ensure maximum availability & utilization of funds and achieve goals.
