This position is located in the Financial Operations Section (FOS), Financial Management Branch (FMB), Asset Logistics Division (ALD), Command, Control, Communication, Computer, and Information Technology Service Center (C4IT SC), in Norfolk, VA.

Duties

This position is located in the Asset Logistics Division (ALD) at the Command, Control, Communication, Computer, and Information Technology Service Center (C4IT SC), Norfolk, VA. The primary purpose of this position is to carry out FOS responsibilities as the budget development expert, responsible for implementing ALD policy, guidance, and analysis in support of budget, budget execution, and business processes.

Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:

  • Reviewing Coast Guard strategic direction and Federal legislation for potential impact to the U.S. Coast Guard and C4IT SC mission and programs
  • Developing strategy and guidance to implement new or update existing policies
  • Developing and coordinating annual budget build processes
  • Directing the formulation and presenting spend plans based on Product Lines, Core Technologies, and Shared Services as well as by Appropriation, Allotment Fund Control Codes (AFC), Program Elements and Project Codes
  • Identifying and reviewing policies, processes, procedures, and practices to ensure resources are being used in an efficient manner
  • Approving and executing all internal and external funds transfer authorizations (FTAs) using enterprise financial systems
  • Analyzing information requirements for C4IT SC management, U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters Program Managers, DHS, OMB, and Congressional queries
