The Indian Health Service (IHS) is the principal federal health care provider and health advocate for American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN). The IHS goal is to raise Indian health status to the highest possible level. IHS provides leadership and direction to programs and activities designed to improve health outcomes to over 1.9 million AI/AN through a system of IHS, Tribal and Urban operated facilities and programs.

This position is located at the Claremore Indian Hospital in the Perioperative Unit, providing surgical scrub technician support for the surgical operations ranging from minor surgical procedures to more complex and extensive surgical procedures. The position is supervised by the Supervisory Operating Room Nurse.

-Use aseptic technique to prepare and maintain the sterile field of the operating room.
-Select and sterilize supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures.
-Remove and clean soiled linens, equipment and supplies following procedures.
-Ensure equipment and instruments used during the operative procedure are assembled and set up.
-Control and monitor internal and external environments through biological testing, product needle, sponge and instrument counts.
