GS-07 - Starting Salary: $43,738.00

Salary Range: $43,738.00 - $56,863.00

 

GS-09 - Starting Salary - $53,500.00

Salary Range: $53,500.00 - $69,545.00

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatibility assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

APPLICANTS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM RANK:

Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered. Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank. If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion. Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers may be allowed to reduce their Officer/Warrant Officer rank to Enlisted only. Military recruiters can provide Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers with specifics applicable to the applicant.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP STATUS: Employment in this position requires concurrent military assignment to a compatible military position in the New Jersey National Guard in one of the following military specialty codes:

Duties

The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position:  A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.

 

DUTIES:

PD D1078000 (GS-07) - Works with HR Specialist in the HRO to accomplish a wide range of human resources transactions, for technicians and AGRs. Provides information to managers and supervisors regarding issues of ARNG. Performs substantive administrative and clerical support duties. Provides instruction to personnel to ensure personnel actions are executed properly. Monitors documentation flow through the office in both electronic form and on paper. Reviews documents for accuracy, format, and compliance with applicable regulations.

PD D1041000 (GS-09) - Maintains data concerning technician and AGR manning documents, including listings of employees against positions. Compiles necessary statistics to reflect current status and accurate consumption of allocated technician and AGR man-years for the purpose of accomplishing a planned hiring program that will meet programmed year end strength and future projections and requirements. Provides technical guidance and procedural assistance to managers, supervisors, and employees in executing a varieity of employee relations, and performance management. Provides advice and assistance to supervisors and managers on the preparation of performance standards and appraisals. Reviews performance standards and appraisals for regulatory compliance. Monitors the timely submission of performance appraisals and records delinquencies. Provides technical guidance and procedural advice on the flexibilities and appropriate use of leave issues such as sick leave for family care and bereavement, compensatory leave, advanced leave, leave without pay, absence without leave, and military leave.
